Carrier

30+ Drivers
Brown Dog Carriers is a full-service trucking company on a fast growth curve. It is headquartered in Biddeford, Maine, and hauls freight across all 48 contiguous US states. The business was started by Graig Morin, a career trucker with more than 1.5 million miles driven, and Darrell Pardy, an executive with decades of experience growing companies. What began as two trucks serving a local area is now a strong operation with more than 30 drivers.

THE CHALLENGE
Before switching to Axleflow, Brown Dog Carriers faced daily bottlenecks. They dragged down productivity, held back growth and wore out both the office team and the drivers.

Dispatchers typed in every load detail from each rate confirmation. It took more than an hour per dispatcher every day and limited how many loads they could handle.

Arrival times and stop notes were written down by hand. Logs came back incomplete or inconsistent, and the office spent hours cleaning them up.

Invoicing ate up close to 6 hours every day as staff keyed in load details one line at a time. Bills went out late, payments came in late and cash flow was hard to predict.
THE SOLUTION
Brown Dog Carriers knew manual work was costing them growth. To modernize and free up the team, they moved their operation onto Axleflow TMS.

Dispatchers now just upload a rate confirmation, and Axleflow pulls every load detail in automatically. No manual typing needed.

The Axleflow Driver App records every stop on its own, with live GPS location, time stamps and mileage updates. Dispatch sees progress as it happens, without a single check-in call.

When a delivery is complete, Axleflow’s AI pulls the details from the BOL. It creates the invoice and payment request, ready to send in one click.
RESULTS AND IMPACT
Moving to Axleflow reshaped how Brown Dog Carriers runs its back office and how its drivers work on the road.

Dispatch, tracking and billing used to fill a full work week. Now the same tasks take just 5 hours a week.

Dispatchers stopped chasing status updates. Drivers always know their next move, and managers see the whole operation live.

Invoicing that once took 6 hours a day now takes about 1. That frees up 25 hours every week, and faster invoices mean customers pay sooner.
For Brown Dog Carriers, scaling up was never only about buying more trucks. It meant changing the way the business ran day to day. Axleflow gave them back time, tighter control and lower overhead, plus tools that let the team work smarter instead of longer.
Live visibility, AI automation and simple dispatch helped Brown Dog cut admin hours by 88%. It also gave them a foundation for growth that drivers actually like. If your team spends more time on paperwork than on freight, it may be time to follow Brown Dog’s lead and switch to a TMS made for modern trucking.
CONNECTED AXLEFLOW
Dispatch doesn’t work in isolation. Axleflow links it to driver pay, compliance, lead generation, and the tools your back office already relies on.
FOR FREIGHT BROKERS
Book freight, source capacity through the load board marketplace and keep shippers informed from one record, so your team spends its day on margin instead of status calls.
Your trucks, your drivers, your margins. Axleflow keeps load entry, trip assignment, tracking and paperwork on one record, so dispatch stops rebuilding the same information three times.
FOR FREIGHT BROKERS
Book freight, source capacity through the load board marketplace and keep shippers informed from one record, so your team spends its day on margin instead of status calls.
Multiple terminals, mixed equipment and dozens of dispatchers create blind spots. Axleflow puts every load, driver, document and expiry date on one board your operations leads can actually read.
When you drive and dispatch, admin happens at truck stops. Axleflow handles load entry, document capture and invoicing from your phone, so paperwork stops eating your evenings.
Managing freight for multiple shippers means answering the same question all day. Axleflow gives each customer live visibility and gives your team one place to run every account.
You are paid on throughput, not headcount. Automated load entry, live tracking and driver messaging let one dispatcher cover more trucks without losing track of a single one.
